Arashi

Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&BJ-pop

Arashi is a Contemporary R&B and J-pop act. Their sound grew out of The Alfee, Shikao Suga, Toma Ikuta, Kenshi Yonezu and My Girl. Those roots explain a lot about how Arashi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Hey! Say! JUMP, News, KinKi Kids, V6 and Kis-My-Ft2, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Superfly, KinKi Kids, DREAMS COME TRUE, Map of the Soul: Persona and Yuri Chinen, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 26 connections around Arashi, reaching back through The Alfee and forward to Superfly. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
