Blake Baxter is a Techno act. Their sound grew out of Willie Hutch and 2raumwohnung. Those roots explain a lot about how Blake Baxter arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Suburban Knight, Underground Resistance, Juan Atkins, Rhythim Is Rhythim and Carl Craig, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Chemical Brothers and Exit Planet Dust, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around Blake Baxter, reaching back through Willie Hutch and forward to The Chemical Brothers.
