Clever is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of JAY-Z and Led Zeppelin. Those roots explain a lot about how Clever arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Jelly Roll, Tyla Yaweh, Calboy, Yung Pinch and Saint Jhn, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Juice Wrld, NLE Choppa, Post Malone, Justin Bieber and will.i.am, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 42 connections around Clever, reaching back through JAY-Z and forward to Juice Wrld. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
