George Enescu

George Enescu is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of André Gedalge, Jules Massenet, Gabriel Fauré and Johannes Brahms. Those roots explain a lot about how George Enescu arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Zoltán Kodály, Charles Koechlin, Ferruccio Busoni, Henryk Wieniawski and Kurt Atterberg, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ginette Neveu, Ravi Shankar, Yehudi Menuhin, Ivry Gitlis and Arthur Grumiaux, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 21 connections around George Enescu, reaching back through André Gedalge and forward to Ginette Neveu. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
