Hoshi is a Dance-pop act. Their sound grew out of Nirvana, Serge Gainsbourg, Les Rita Mitsouko, Noir Désir and Léo Ferré. Those roots explain a lot about how Hoshi arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Calogero, Julien Doré, Superbus, Maëlle and Gaëtan Roussel, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into So!YoON!, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Hoshi, reaching back through Nirvana and forward to So!YoON!.
