Techno

Jeff Mills is a Techno act. Their sound grew out of Richie Hawtin, Carolina Eyck and Electronica 2: The Heart of Noise. Those roots explain a lot about how Jeff Mills arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Surgeon, Richie Hawtin, Underground Resistance, Rhythim Is Rhythim and Ben Sims, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Agoria, JK Flesh, Adam Beyer, Ian Pooley and Plastikman, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 32 connections around Jeff Mills, reaching back through Richie Hawtin and forward to Agoria. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
