Joshua Bell

Classical
Classical

Joshua Bell is a Classical act. Their sound grew out of Academy of St Martin in the Fields and Neville Marriner. Those roots explain a lot about how Joshua Bell arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Hilary Hahn, Yehudi Menuhin, Julia Fischer, Vilde Frang and Johann Pachelbel, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Steven Isserlis, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around Joshua Bell, reaching back through Academy of St Martin in the Fields and forward to Steven Isserlis. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
