Julio de Caro is a Tango act. Their sound grew out of Roberto Firpo, Osvaldo Fresedo, Eduardo Arolas and Juan Carlos Cobian. Those roots explain a lot about how Julio de Caro arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Osvaldo Fresedo, Florindo Sassone, Edgardo Donato, Rodolfo Biagi and Libertad Lamarque, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Astor Piazzolla, Aníbal Troilo, Osvaldo Pugliese, Carlos di Sarli and Atilio Stampone, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 18 connections around Julio de Caro, reaching back through Roberto Firpo and forward to Astor Piazzolla.
