Kutt Calhoun is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Jay Rock and Krizz Kaliko. Those roots explain a lot about how Kutt Calhoun arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Dirtball, Kingspade, D-Loc, Krizz Kaliko and Stevie Stone, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Brotha Lynch Hung, E-40 and Joe Budden, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 12 connections around Kutt Calhoun, reaching back through Jay Rock and forward to Tech N9ne.
