L5 is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Yodelice. Those roots explain a lot about how L5 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Christophe Willem, Alizée, Juliette Armanet, Mylène Farmer and Sheryfa Luna, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into No Angels, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 13 connections around L5, reaching back through Yodelice and forward to No Angels. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
Background
L5 was a French girl group. They were known for their participation in the French Popstars TV programme in its first season in 2001. L5 reached the 54th position in the list of French best-selling singles and held the number 1 position in the list of French number-one hits of 2001 with their song "Toutes les femmes de ta vie". They toured in France with Jérémy Chatelain in 2003 and with Billy Crawford in 2006. "Make a Change", on the album Destiny by No Angels, is an English-language remake of L5's single "Reste Encore" (2003).
