Laufey

Laufey is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of beabadoobee, Alexander 23, Frédéric Chopin, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Those roots explain a lot about how Laufey arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sienna Spiro, Stacey Ryan, dhruv, Laurindo Almeida and Micah Edwards, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Good Kid, Matilda Mann, Billie Eilish, dodie and Billy Joel, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 35 connections around Laufey, reaching back through beabadoobee and forward to Good Kid. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
