Mano Negra

Punk rock
Punk rockRapSka

Mano Negra is a Punk rock and Rap act. Their catalogue also touches Ska. Their sound grew out of Todos Tus Muertos, Bérurier Noir, Noir Désir, Karamelo Santo and Road Crew. Those roots explain a lot about how Mano Negra arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Les Négresses Vertes, Louise Attaque, Les Rita Mitsouko, No One Is Innocent and Todos Tus Muertos, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Déportivo, Plastilina Mosh, Bongo Botrako, Ska-P and Gogol Bordello, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 41 connections around Mano Negra, reaching back through Todos Tus Muertos and forward to Déportivo. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
