Nortt is a Doom metal act. Their sound grew out of Stream from the Heavens, Xasthur and The Funeral of Being. Those roots explain a lot about how Nortt arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Skepticism, Mournful Congregation, Dolorian, None and ColdWorld, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Xasthur, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 22 connections around Nortt, reaching back through Stream from the Heavens and forward to Xasthur.
