Doom metal

Om is a Doom metal act. Their sound grew out of Billy Cobham, Sleep, Planet Caravan and Polvo. Those roots explain a lot about how Om arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Sleep, Kyuss, Church of Misery, Saint Vitus and Reverend Bizarre, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 9 connections around Om, reaching back through Billy Cobham. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
