Paint It Black is a Rock act. Their sound grew out of Kid Dynamite, None More Black and Lifetime. Those roots explain a lot about how Paint It Black arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Lifetime, Kill Your Idols, Ceremony, Avail and A Wilhelm Scream, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into None More Black, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 13 connections around Paint It Black, reaching back through Kid Dynamite and forward to None More Black.
