Pupo is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Robin Beck and Umberto Tozzi. Those roots explain a lot about how Pupo arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Umberto Tozzi, Ricchi e Poveri, Antonello Venditti, F.R. David and Loretta Goggi, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Ricchi e Poveri, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 18 connections around Pupo, reaching back through Robin Beck and forward to Ricchi e Poveri. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
