Tirzah is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Kwes., Mica Levi and Baauer. Those roots explain a lot about how Tirzah arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as ML Buch, Erika de Casier, keiyaA, Nourished by Time and Abra, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sampha, Charlotte dos Santos, Tricky, Dels and Mura Masa, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 30 connections around Tirzah, reaching back through Kwes. and forward to Sampha. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
