Vlad Tepes is a Black metal act. Their sound grew out of Les Légions Noires and Mütiilation. Those roots explain a lot about how Vlad Tepes arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Satanic Warmaster, Grand Belial's Key, Horna, Von and Abigor, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Thurston Moore and Antaeus, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 10 connections around Vlad Tepes, reaching back through Les Légions Noires and forward to Thurston Moore.
