The cymbals are common percussion instruments. Often used in pairs, cymbals consist of thin, normally round plates of various copper alloys. Drum kits usually incorporate at least a crash, a ride, or a crash/ride cymbal and a pair of hi-hat cymbals. A player of cymbals is known as a cymbalist.

Halcali is a Japanese J-pop duo composed of Haruka and Yukari from Meguro, Tokyo. The group's name is a portmanteau of Halca and Yucali . Their debut album, Halcali Bacon (2003), reached number five on the Oricon Albums Chart, making it the first album by a female hip-hop artist to enter the top ten in Japan.
