With their Northern German identity, they are notable for keeping alive the native Low German language in their lyrics. With many of their songs being Low-German covers of Anglo-American standards, their music style ranges from R'n'B to blues rock and folk rock.

Deichkind is a German electropunk band formed in Hamburg in 1997. Deichkind started with hip hop, later added elements of electronic dance music to its style. The band themselves call their music TechRap as a combination of techno and rap music. The songs are often satirical and criticize consumerism and the performance-oriented society.

Marius Hubertus Hans Müller-Westernhagen is a German musician and actor. He has been a feature in German rock music since the mid-1970s. Müller-Westernhagen is known for his energetic public concerts, and his fans know his anthem-like songs by heart. Though written a few years earlier, his song "Freiheit" ("Freedom") is widely considered as an anthem of the German Reunification. Since the late 1980s, he has also been known mononymously as Westernhagen.

Juli is a German alternative pop band from Gießen, Hessen, consisting of singer Eva Briegel, guitarists Jonas Pfetzing and Simon Triebel, bassist Andreas "Dedi" Herde and drummer Marcel Römer. The band was formed with this lineup from the band Sunnyglade in 2001.
