Johnny Paycheck was an American country music singer and songwriter. He is a notable figure in the outlaw movement in country music.

The Bottle Rockets were an American rock band formed in Festus, Missouri in 1992, and based in St. Louis. Its founding members were Brian Henneman, Mark Ortmann (drums), Tom Parr and Tom Ray ; the most recent lineup consisted of Henneman, Ortmann, John Horton and Keith Voegele. Most members of the band have contributed to their catalog of original songs, as have Robert Parr and schoolteacher Scott Taylor.

Prefab Sprout are an English pop/rock band from Witton Gilbert, County Durham who rose to fame during the 1980s. Formed in 1978 by brothers Paddy and Martin McAloon and joined by vocalist, guitarist and keyboard player Wendy Smith in 1982, they released their debut album Swoon to critical acclaim in 1984. Their subsequent albums, including 1985's Steve McQueen and 1990's Jordan: The Comeback, have been described by Paul Lester of The Guardian as "some of the most beautiful and intelligent records of their era". Frontman Paddy McAloon is regarded as one of the great songwriters of his time and the band have been credited with producing some of the "most beloved" pop music of the 1980s and 1990s.

The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Mitski, released on September 15, 2023, through Dead Oceans. Produced by Patrick Hyland, it was recorded at the Bomb Shelter studio in Nashville and Sunset Sound in Los Angeles. The album was promoted by the release of the singles "Bug Like an Angel", "Star", "Heaven" and "My Love Mine All Mine" through July to October 2023, the last being Mitski's most successful song to date. An Americana, country, folk, and orchestral pop record, The Land Is Inhospitable was received with universal praise by critics, who focused on the emotional rawness of Mitski's lyrics as well as the stripped-down nature of the music.
