Akher Zapheer

Akher Zapheer is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Dream Theater, Nirvana, Duman, Radiohead and Deftones. Those roots explain a lot about how Akher Zapheer arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Mashrou' Leila, Fairuz, Souad Massi, Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Mohamed Mounir, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Akher Zapheer, reaching back through Dream Theater and forward to Mohamed Mounir. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
