Balzac is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Misfits, The Damned and BUCK-TICK. Those roots explain a lot about how Balzac arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Stalin, Murderdolls, Guitar Wolf, Wednesday 13 and Brahman, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Merry and A Hard Rain's a-Gonna Fall, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 13 connections around Balzac, reaching back through Misfits and forward to Merry.
