Born Against is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Moss Icon. Those roots explain a lot about how Born Against arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Dag Nasty, The Faith, Los Crudos, The Teen Idles and Integrity, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Refused, Locust, The Locust, The Shape of Punk to Come and Saetia, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 21 connections around Born Against, reaching back through Moss Icon and forward to Refused. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
