C. Ramchandra is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Benny Goodman. Those roots explain a lot about how C. Ramchandra arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as S. D. Burman, O.P. Nayyar, Shailendra Singh, Usha Mangeshkar and Sudesh Bhosle, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Nadeem-Shravan, Manna Dey, Uttam Singh, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 31 connections around C. Ramchandra, reaching back through Benny Goodman and forward to Nadeem-Shravan.
