Cryptopsy

Cryptopsy is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Karl Sanders, Immolation, Grave and Scarve. Those roots explain a lot about how Cryptopsy arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Nile, Morbid Angel, Death, Skinless and Internal Bleeding, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Grave, The Amenta, Insision, Billy Strings and Dew-Scented, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 19 connections around Cryptopsy, reaching back through Karl Sanders and forward to Grave. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
