Dante Spinetta

Funk
Funk

Dante Spinetta is a Funk act. Their sound grew out of La Tigresa del Oriente, Wendy Sulca and Luis Alberto Spinetta. Those roots explain a lot about how Dante Spinetta arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas, Willy Crook, Bandalos Chinos, Bersuit Vergarabat and Mercedes Sosa, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Julieta Venegas, Emmanuel Horvilleur and Tony Touch, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Dante Spinetta, reaching back through La Tigresa del Oriente and forward to Julieta Venegas. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
