◇ image via WikipediaDeep Wound
Deep Wound is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Anti-Pasti, Discharge and SSD. Those roots explain a lot about how Deep Wound arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Void, Gang Green, The Teen Idles, Ill Repute and D.I., sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sebadoh, Siege and Dinosaur Jr., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Deep Wound, reaching back through Anti-Pasti and forward to Sebadoh.
