Di Genius is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Timbaland, Shenseea, Freddie McGregor, Stevie Wonder and The Neptunes. Those roots explain a lot about how Di Genius arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Khago, Chan Dizzy, Shawn Storm, Chase Cross and Jah Vinci, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Nelly Furtado, Lianne La Havas, Shakira, John Legend and Elephant Man, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 43 connections around Di Genius, reaching back through Timbaland and forward to Nelly Furtado.
