◇ image via WikipediaDonots
Donots is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of Royal Republic, Disco Ensemble, Die Toten Hosen, Bakkushan and Green Day. Those roots explain a lot about how Donots arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Deine Cousine, Kraftklub, Farin Urlaub, Blackout Problems and Farin Urlaub Racing Team, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Royal Republic and Revolverheld, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 27 connections around Donots, reaching back through Royal Republic and forward to Royal Republic.
