Emmanuel is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Juan Luis Guerra and Lamont Dozier. Those roots explain a lot about how Emmanuel arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Mijares, José Luis Perales, José José, Miguel Bosé and Franco de Vita, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Pandora, Alexander Acha, Mijares and Manuel Mijares, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Emmanuel, reaching back through Juan Luis Guerra and forward to Pandora. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
