Contemporary R&B

Fromis 9 is a Contemporary R&B act. Their sound grew out of IU, Le Sserafim, Fiestar and NMIXX. Those roots explain a lot about how Fromis 9 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as WJSN, H1-KEY, OH MY GIRL, Weeekly and Billlie, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Wonder Girls, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 22 connections around Fromis 9, reaching back through IU and forward to Wonder Girls.
