Funky is a Reggaeton act. Their sound grew out of Manny Montes, Gocho, Los Legendarios and Vico C. Those roots explain a lot about how Funky arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Alex Campos, G&G Sindikatas, Manny Montes, Vico C and Rescate, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Lecrae, Marcos Witt, Manny Montes, Israel & New Breed and DJ Blass, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 15 connections around Funky, reaching back through Manny Montes and forward to Lecrae.
