Gilla

Disco
Disco

Gilla is a Disco act. Their sound grew out of Bob Marley, Boney M., The American Breed, The Animals and Labelle. Those roots explain a lot about how Gilla arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as El Pasador, Mr. Zivago, Les McKeown, Video Kids and Precious Wilson, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Take the Heat off Me, Eruption, Precious Wilson, Milli Vanilli and Boney M., where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 28 connections around Gilla, reaching back through Bob Marley and forward to Take the Heat off Me. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
