Il Divo is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Luciano Pavarotti, Rebekah Del Rio, Katherine Jenkins, Un-Break My Heart and YHLQMDLG. Those roots explain a lot about how Il Divo arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Katherine Jenkins, Josh Groban, Hayley Westenra, Sarah Brightman and Luciano Pavarotti, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Barbra Streisand, Lea Salonga, Toni Braxton, Vanessa-Mae and Engelbert Humperdinck, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 38 connections around Il Divo, reaching back through Luciano Pavarotti and forward to Barbra Streisand. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
