Keith Washington is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Donny Hathaway, Frankie Beverly, Gerald Levert and Roberta Flack. Those roots explain a lot about how Keith Washington arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as The Jones Girls, Gerald Levert, Miki Howard, Jeffrey Osborne and Peabo Bryson, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Let's Get to It, Chanté Moore, Kylie Minogue and Freddie Jackson, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Keith Washington, reaching back through Donny Hathaway and forward to Let's Get to It.
