Leopoldo Federico is a Tango act. Their sound grew out of Astor Piazzolla, Rubén Juárez, Juan Carlos Cobian, Mariano Mores and Carlos di Sarli. Those roots explain a lot about how Leopoldo Federico arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Osvaldo Fresedo, Florindo Sassone, Edgardo Donato, Rodolfo Biagi and Libertad Lamarque, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Julio Sosa and Atilio Stampone, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 15 connections around Leopoldo Federico, reaching back through Astor Piazzolla and forward to Julio Sosa.
