Makiza is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of La Pozze Latina, Tiro De Gracia and Los Tres. Those roots explain a lot about how Makiza arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Tiro De Gracia, Los Tetas, La Pozze Latina, Joe Vasconcellos and Fother Muckers, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Julieta Venegas and Control Machete, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 18 connections around Makiza, reaching back through La Pozze Latina and forward to Julieta Venegas. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
