Gepe is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Javiera Mena, Alex Anwandter, Victor Jara, Brian Wilson and Sonic Youth. Those roots explain a lot about how Gepe arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Francisca Valenzuela, Alex Anwandter, Javiera Mena, Teleradio Donoso and Los Tres, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Javiera Mena, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 25 connections around Gepe, reaching back through Javiera Mena and forward to Javiera Mena. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
