J-pop

NGT48 is a J-pop act. Their sound grew out of Yasushi Akimoto, AKB48 Group, AKB48 and Vernalossom. Those roots explain a lot about how NGT48 arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as STU48, AKB48, Sakurazaka46, Buono! and Little Glee Monster, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into STU48, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 11 connections around NGT48, reaching back through Yasushi Akimoto and forward to STU48. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
