◇ image via WikipediaOceana
Oceana is a House act. Their sound grew out of Mr. Saxobeat. Those roots explain a lot about how Oceana arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Secret And Whisper, Drop Dead, Gorgeous, Hopes Die Last, The Word Alive and Emarosa, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Sleeping, Being as an Ocean, Silent Planet, Movements and Polyenso, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 16 connections around Oceana, reaching back through Mr. Saxobeat and forward to The Sleeping. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
