Pretty Ricky is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Crave, B2K, Pitbull, Sean Paul and H-Town. Those roots explain a lot about how Pretty Ricky arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Pleasure P, The-Dream, Marques Houston, Tyrese and Lyfe Jennings, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Bobby Valentino, Omarion, Bow Wow, Chris Brown and Bobby V, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Pretty Ricky, reaching back through Crave and forward to Bobby Valentino.
