Pussy Galore is a Punk rock act. Their sound grew out of The Rolling Stones, Public Enemy, Devo and Adrenalin O.D.. Those roots explain a lot about how Pussy Galore arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Rapeman, The Gories, Pissed Jeans, Chrome and Band of Susans, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Sonic Youth, Beck, Pretty on the Inside, Stereopathetic Soulmanure and White Zombie, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 17 connections around Pussy Galore, reaching back through The Rolling Stones and forward to Sonic Youth.
