Rayvon is a Reggae act. Their sound grew out of Shaggy, Sly and Robbie and Sly & Robbie. Those roots explain a lot about how Rayvon arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Nadine Sutherland, Jigsy King, Ward 21, Lexxus and Timberlee, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Red Fox, Luciano and General Degree, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 26 connections around Rayvon, reaching back through Shaggy and forward to Red Fox.
