Regal is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of The Wiseguys and Emmanuel Top. Those roots explain a lot about how Regal arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Under Black Helmet, Introversion, Fjaak, Hadone and Anetha, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Amelie Lens, Ellen Allien, Alignment, Len Faki and Nina Kraviz, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 26 connections around Regal, reaching back through The Wiseguys and forward to Amelie Lens. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
