Slam is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Chronologie and Regal. Those roots explain a lot about how Slam arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Agoria, Planetary Assault Systems, Fluke, Marco Bailey and Surgeon, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Nathan Fake, DJ Tocadisco, Daft Punk, Jean-Michel Jarre and Dot Allison, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 34 connections around Slam, reaching back through Chronologie and forward to Nathan Fake. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
