Rudimentary Peni is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Sex Pistols and Crass. Those roots explain a lot about how Rudimentary Peni arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Aus-Rotten, The Partisans, Reagan Youth, Circle Jerks and The Stalin, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Neurosis and Dystopia, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 12 connections around Rudimentary Peni, reaching back through Sex Pistols and forward to Neurosis.
