◇ image via WikipediaThe Partisans
The Partisans is a Hardcore punk act. Their sound grew out of Sex Pistols and The Clash. Those roots explain a lot about how The Partisans arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Vice Squad, The Business, Oxymoron and Sham 69, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into The Garden, Transvision Vamp, Conflict, Blitz and Peter and the Test Tube Babies, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 21 connections around The Partisans, reaching back through Sex Pistols and forward to The Garden. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
