Disco

Serhat is a Disco act. Their sound grew out of Martha Wash and Viktor Lazlo. Those roots explain a lot about how Serhat arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Eden Alene, Cornelia Jakobs, Gjon's Tears, Daði Freyr and Natalia Gordienko, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Altogether the chart holds 14 connections around Serhat, reaching back through Martha Wash. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
