Spiller is an act on the Starverb influence map. Their sound grew out of Mud, Nina Miranda, Moony, The Supermen Lovers and Louis La Roche. Those roots explain a lot about how Spiller arrange songs and choose their tones. They run in the same orbit as Phats & Small, Shapeshifters, Junior Jack, Armand van Helden and Michael Gray, sharing audiences, venues and reference points rather than a straight line of influence. Their influence carried into Victoria Beckham and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, where the same ideas turn up rearranged for a later generation. Altogether the chart holds 33 connections around Spiller, reaching back through Mud and forward to Victoria Beckham. Follow any of those threads to keep travelling the influence between bands and genres on Starverb.
